Courtyard 7

Overview

Overview:

Courtyard 7 has historically been home to imperial families, social celebrities, and high ranking officials. It was the owners' dream to recreate the romantic past of the area, so they spent more than three years restoring the courtyards, and finally in 2008 were able to reveal the culmination of their work. Through the course of restoration and the use of traditional styling techniques, Courtyard 7 allows guests a break from the hustle and bustle of Beijing by offering a historically accurate atmosphere.

In order to make our guests more comfortable, Courtyard 7 has incorporated advanced facilities into their overall design. Notable among these systems is the use of a geothermal heating pump combined with solar energy to provide 24-hour hot water, heat and air conditioning. Although it was difficult to implement, it helps the facility save energy and protect the environment - Courtyard 7 is the first courtyard hotel in Beijing to adopt a geothermal heating pump system, which allows guests to appreciate the traditional culture while maintaining a comfortable atmosphere.

Courtyard 7 is a medium-sized facility located in the Qianguluoyuan hutong (a traditional neighborhood of Beijing). It consists of three rows of courtyards that feature decorated gates, main houses, wing-rooms, side rooms, and rear houses, all of which are circled by galleries.

Day Experience

Day Experience :

Courtyard 7 is located in Dongcheng District, which is an area known for its fusion of hip, modish style and preserved tradition. Nearby sites include:

Nanluoguxiang, a renovated hutong

Though this Beijing alleyway or hutong looks traditional at first glance, a quick stroll will prove otherwise. Nanluoguxiang has been renovated to include small boutique shops, casual cafes, bars, and eateries. Bustling with both local residents and visitors, this hip street is also in close proximity to the Drum and Bell Towers.

Lama & Confucius Temples

The Lama Temple has been home to Tibetan & Mongolian monks for nearly 300 years and houses the largest wooden statue of Buddha in the world. The Confucius Temple was where thousands of men once sat through grueling examinations, vying for highly coveted positions in the imperial officialdom.

Beihai Park & Houhai Lake

During the day, ride rickshaws or bike around to see local Beijingers performing fan dances, singing Peiking opera and practicing taichi. At night, the area turns up the heat with rows of trendy bars, lit along the waterfront.
